About

Simple yet delicious Moroccan Jewish doughnuts — sticky dough rings fried until golden and rolled in sugar. A Hanukkah tradition.

Ingredients

3 cups 3 cups flour
3 3 eggs
1/4 cup 1/4 cup sugar (dough)
1 tbsp 1 tablespoon instant yeast
3/4 cup 3/4 cup warm water
1 tbsp 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
1/2 tsp 1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups 4 cups oil for frying
1 cup 1 cup sugar for coating

Instructions

1. Dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar.\n2. Add flour, eggs, orange blossom water, and a pinch of salt.\n3. Knead into a smooth, slightly sticky dough.\n4. Let rise for 1 hour.\n5. Shape into rings and let rest 15 minutes.\n6. Deep fry in hot oil until golden.\n7. Roll in sugar while still warm.
